About Yippito
We’re a small team building Yippito on one simple idea: a quiz isn’t just the test at the end. It’s one of the best ways to actually learn — and it should feel like a game, not an exam.
Why a quiz, of all things
There is a large body of research in cognitive psychology on how people remember things, and one finding keeps coming back: testing yourself beats re-reading. Pulling an answer out of your head does far more for memory than passively reading it again. Quizzing, in other words, is not just how you check learning — it’s one of the most effective ways to do it. (We wrote about the studies over on the blog.)
The catch has always been the work. Writing a good set of questions by hand is slow, and the quiz that never gets made helps no one. So the question we started with was simple: what if making the quiz took minutes, so all the energy could go into playing and learning instead?
What Yippito does
You give Yippito a starting point — a topic, your own pasted notes, a PDF, a web page or a YouTube video — and it drafts a quiz from it. Every question opens in an editor first, so you reword, cut or re-key anything before it goes in front of anyone; the AI does the heavy lifting, but you stay in control. Then you host it as a live game that people join from a PIN on their own phones, with a scoreboard that keeps itself.
Who it’s for
Teachers use it as a starter, an exit ticket or revision built from the exact material a class studied. Teams run a quick round in a meeting, an onboarding session or a social. And friends and family turn a film-trivia night or a random topic into a proper contest. Same tool, any room — you can see the ways people use it on the home page.
What we believe
You stay in control. Every question is editable before it’s played. AI is a drafting tool here, not the final word.
Honest over hype. We’d rather tell you what Yippito does well and where it still has rough edges than oversell it — the same voice we try to keep on the blog.
Learning should feel like a win. The name is the whole idea: every right answer is a small “yip” of a moment. If it feels like a game, people play — and if they play, they learn.
Where we’re at
Yippito is new, and right now it’s in a free public beta — everything is unlocked and there’s no card to enter. We’re a small team building it in the open, shipping improvements often and listening closely to the people using it.
