Why grounded questions are different
When you give an AI a bare topic, it writes from everything it has ever read — which is useful for a general knowledge round and unhelpful when you need questions about the specific twelve pages someone actually has to know. A PDF flips that. The document becomes the only source, the questions stay inside it, and every answer can be traced back to a line you can point at.
That makes it the right tool for study material, onboarding documents, compliance packs, course readings and anything else where "close enough" is not good enough.
What the file needs to contain
It needs real text. A PDF exported from a word processor, a slide deck or a web page is fine. A scan or a photograph of a page is not — to the parser those are images with no characters in them, and Yippito will tell you it found no text rather than inventing questions. If you only have a scan, run it through OCR first, or paste the text in directly.
Long documents are handled by taking as much as fits the model’s window, so for a book-length file you will get better questions by dropping in the chapter that matters instead of the whole thing.
From revision sheet to live round
Once the draft exists it is a normal Yippito quiz: mix in other question types, add an image or a video question, set the timers, then host it live with a PIN so a class or a team plays it together on their phones. Or keep it as a private quiz and use it as self-testing, which the research on retrieval practice suggests is a considerably better use of study time than reading the PDF again.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read in your browser and only the extracted text is sent on to build the questions. The PDF itself never leaves your machine.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
No. A scan is an image with no text layer, so there is nothing to read. Run it through OCR first, or paste the text in yourself.
How long can the document be?
Long documents are truncated to what fits the model’s context, and you will be told when that happens. For a long file, drop in the specific chapter you care about for sharper questions.
Can I mix a PDF with other material?
Yes. Generate from the PDF, then append more questions from a topic, a web page or a video transcript into the same quiz.
