Turn a PDF into a quiz
Guides · 4 min read

The material is usually already written. A revision handout, a chapter of a manual, the slides you exported after the meeting — the knowledge is sitting in a PDF. What you don’t have is twenty minutes to read it back and turn it into questions.
Yippito can start from the file itself. Pick a PDF and it reads the text and writes a quiz grounded in exactly what the document says.
The file never leaves your computer
This is the part worth slowing down on, because most tools get it wrong. Yippito does not upload your PDF. Your browser opens the file and pulls the text out on your own machine, and only that text is sent to be turned into questions. The document — with whatever letterhead, names or notes are on it — stays with you.
For a teacher with a marked-up worksheet, or an HR team with an internal handbook, that difference is the whole point.
What it looks like
Feed it a one-page revision sheet on the water cycle and ask for four true/false questions, and you get back something like this in a few seconds:
Condensation is the process by which water vapour turns back into liquid water.
✔ True
Transpiration releases water into the air from the oceans, not from plants.
✔ False
Precipitation includes rain, snow, sleet and hail.
✔ True
Every question is pulled from the sheet, so it tests what your class actually studied — not the model’s vaguer idea of the topic.
Where it struggles
It needs a PDF with real text in it. A document you typed and exported is perfect. A scannedpage — a photo of paper saved as a PDF — has no text underneath, only an image, and Yippito will tell you it can’t find any words to read. If that happens, use a version that was born digital.
A very long document gets trimmed to fit, so a whole textbook will lean on its earlier pages. Point it at a chapter rather than the book, and you get questions spread evenly across what matters.
And read the draft. It is fast and it sticks to the source, but every question lands in the editor first. Reword, delete, change the answer — it is your quiz before it is anyone else’s.
How to do it
Sign in, open AI Studio and pick PDF → Quiz. Choose your file, set how many questions, which type and how hard, and generate. A few seconds later you are looking at a draft in the editor. When it is ready, host it and share the PIN — players join with no account at all.
Got a PDF? That’s a quiz.
